It depends. Where does he like to shop? If you know his clothing size or his favorite store, get him a hoodie You could also get him a pair of jeans or a nice jacket.
If he’s into videogames, get him a cheaper game.
If all else fails, get him a gift card!

I don’t think you need to get her a gift just because she doesn’t like you. What I WOULD do is buy a Christmas card and give it to your boyfriend’s mom and dad.

I’m thinking about having a Christmas sleepover this Christmas and need some ideas!?

I was thinking about having a Christmas party this December with probably like 5 of my friends. I want to make personalized invitations instead of buying them at a store, but if we make them online, they have to be free. Where can I make some invites that I can personalize? What should we do at my party? I was thinking really fun games… but I don’t know what. We’re definitely playing Truth or Dare, but I was thinking we need some Christmas stuff to do and decorations to make it look better. Help!!

You should actually have a program on your computer that should help you make invites. It depends on what type of computer you have so I’m not sure on the name of your specific program.
For fun things to do…. you guys could each make your own little gingerbread houses, decorate Christmas cookies, and when it gets late you guys could put in a classic Christmas movie! Also make sure you have all the staple Christmas sweets!

You will have a blast no matter what it should be fun!

Charity work on Christmas Day in Manhattan?

I will be in Manhattan (near Empire State Building) for Christmas and would like to do some kind of charity on Christmas Day if this is possible? I would particularly like to support in a childrenn’s home or hospital, but if not, I would like to help any charity. Does anybody know how to get involved in this and the sorts of charities that there are? Thanks

Some require you to go to orientation meetings beforehand so just get in contact and explain your situation.
One secret of building strong corporate partnerships can be found in how you communicate with them. It may be cliché, but business men are busy people. They have a bottom line to meet and one question will keep coming up…what is in it for me? You as a small charity need to always keep these things in mind. So with that in mind, what is the best way to cultivate and solicit corporate partners?

In person – This works well with business that you frequent personally or with those local to you. Take a couple of hours and simply take a stroll around your neighbourhood with your brochures, newsletter or business cards. Ask to speak to the manager or owner. Introduce yourself and your charity. Use your elevator speech that is a two sentence summary of what you do. Ask if they have time to talk. If not, leave your information and ask when would be a better time to talk. Always have a general idea what you want: a gift certificate, employee giving or event sponsorship.

By phone – If you are shy, this can be a daunting prospect. Even professional sales people dread cold calls. But this method can be employed for businesses that are not located close to you. Follow the same basic steps as above, but mail your information to them after the call.

By letter – Is going to be the least effective way, because it is impersonal. But sometimes you simply cannot gain access to decision makers in person or on the phone. Then you have no choice, but to write a letter. Even then make sure you have the actual name of a person and not just a title. It will at least make your letter stand out a bit from the hundreds of others they receive. It might take a few phone calls and some charm to get this information from over-worked admins, but it is worth the effort.

Of course, however you make this initial contact with potential corporate partners remember to talk in their terms about how it benefits them…and be prepared for several letters, calls and visits before you get an answer.

Office Christmas Decorations

How can I guarantee victory in my companies Christmas decoration game?

I have a general disdain for these type of “office games”.
However, after reviewing the situation in my mind, I realized that if I WIN, that just might take a victory away from someone that I don’t like.
Honestly, isn’t that what the season is all about?

Let’s face it…this is what Christmas is all about. Competitive games to WIN! Never mind all the other trivialities. Our whole street is exactly that way with decoration. There is a certain “smugness” when you feel you have the best decorations on the street, and you will feel that same satisfaction if you can pull this off. What I do, to ensure victory, is tarnish my neigbor’s decorations as opposed to making mine great. It’s much easier and cost-effective to destroy instead of trying to be best. As an example, assume your neighbor puts out a Santa sleigh…Now you could either try and top that, or you could pull it away and replace it with a pile of dog poop. Then, your decoration, whatever it is, looks great by comparison. So—my advice is to just remove decorations from your competitiors, and replace it with disgusting stuff. Eventually, they will just give up—and you will WIN!!

Vintage Christmas Decorations

What “style” are your Christmas decorations?

Mine is very traditional even though my house is modern….I have a lot of antique and vintage ornaments and have greenery (holly and ivy) draped everywhere….my friend has a dark blue Christmas tree with only silver ornaments on it..and that’s it..she likes minimal…what about you? What do you have and why? Is there a special ornament that you love? 

I use only clear lights, as my husband prefers them and i don’t mind either way. Our 6 ft tree in our living room is decorated with a Jack Frost theme – silver and ice blue. It looks lovely with all the lights and we have 3 snowman decorations we hang on it to represent our 3 daughter who are 11,6 and 21 months. In our hallway we have a silver tinsel 4 ft tree and we put red decorations and tinsel on this one with clear lights, it may not be to everyone’s taste but we like it and think it looks lovely.
